You
can use your skills in a wide variety of places. The challenge is
knowing "where?" One way to approach this problem is to
remember that almost all of us see two worlds out there: the world
as it is, and the world as we would like it to be.
For
this exercise you would have to develop your picture of the world
as you would like it to be and break that picture down into its
individual parts. Most of us tend to freeze when we try to do this
because we are trying to look at each part of the picture in terms
of ourselves, and continually saying, "But I couldn't help
change this." We think so much of our limitations (imagined
or real) that our imagination dries up.
One
way around this is to ask ourselves deliberately "What do I
want to see others do, to help bring about the world as I would
like it to be?" The minute you say "others" of course,
you can endow them with every brain power and skill that you think
you lack. Hence, your imagination is freed up. After you have thus
freed up your imagination, you can come back to yourself bringing
all this home at the end.
